Effective July 1st, 2015 the Hospital for Sick Children, Department of Paediatrics, an academic health science centre dedicated exclusively to children, affiliated with the University of Toronto, is recruiting a Director of the Transplant and Regenerative Medicine Centre.

The Hospital for Sick Children’s Transplant and Regenerative Medicine Centre consists of physicians and surgeons, allied health professionals, basic and clinical research scientists whose goal is to provide state-of-the-art clinical care and to advance knowledge in the field of solid organ transplantation in children. There are approximately 60 solid organ transplants performed annually (kidney, heart, liver, lung, small bowel). A unique fellowship program in solid organ transplantation is sponsored by the Department of Pediatrics and coordinated with the sub-specialty training programs in Nephrology, Cardiology, Gastroenterology/Nutrition and Respiratory Medicine.

Your successful background in academic transplantation includes the ability to promote and facilitate research and education and provide scholarly clinical care. You will lead in the development of evidence-based clinical guidelines, manage quality assurance initiatives, and initiate new clinical programs. Applicants must be eligible for or be certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.

The successful candidates should be eligible for an academic appointment at the University of Toronto. Rank and Salary ($250,000 - $350,000)per annum will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The successful candidate will be eligible for a benefit package which includes medical, dental, life insurance, group insurance, pension plan, vision care and a relocation package. All candidates must be certified by the Royal College in Paediatrics or have equivalent training and have the ability to be academically productive.
