The CST-Astellas Transformative Thinking in Transplant (T3) Competition is designed to inspire innovative solutions in transplant care and demonstrate commitment to the transplant community.The objective of the T3 Competition is to identify and provide plausible implementation solutions in the areas of patient care, education, adherence, organ donation, quality of life improvement with the ultimate goal of advancing long-term health outcomes and quality of life for Canadian transplant patients.
The primary focus of the T3 Competition is to provide seed funding that will enable the entries of three finalists to be implemented.
The CST Executive Steering Committee will form the adjudication panel and will choose three finalists who will be invited to present their ideas during the 2017 CST-CTRMS Joint Scientific Meeting in Halifax, Nova Scotia on September 26, 2017. The top-ranked finalist will be awarded $50,000 and the second and third-racked finalists will each receive an award in the amount of $25,000.

Eligible Entries
Eligible entries will be those limited to original Implementation Science, tools, apps, processes, surveys, patient resources, clinical practice projects/improvements that will make a distinct and positive contribution in the areas of patient education, clinical care support, adherence, organ donation, quality of life and the overall improvement of outcomes in the field of Canadian transplantation.
Non-eligible Entries
Proposals including or related to the following subject matter will not be considered eligible for the Competition:
Discovery and pharmaceutical research involving the scientific investigation of the etiology mechanisms, or treatment of human disease using human subjects, populations or materials of human origin
Clinical drug / treatment trials
Basic bench/animal research
Research evaluating clinical, economic and humanistic aspects of pharmaceutical products, services and programs to provide health care decision makers (eg. Public Payers) with information for optimal allocation of healthcare resources
Previously completed or already funded projects (i.e. ideas/initiatives that have been implemented)
